BHO or Butane Honey Oil or Butane Hash Oil as it is sometimes called is a cannabis extract that is legal in some states that make the extract in a closed loop system. This system type protects the environment as butane and hexane are considered greenhouse gasses.  Butane by itself isn't toxic to humans but can displace oxygen and cause dizziness or even death by lack of oxygen.  Butane is extremely flammable and can ignite from from any type of spark, even static electricity. Therefore we at Farm to Vape do not condone openly blasting butane to make BHO for the above reasons.  Closed loops systems are much safer and don't hurt the environment and save you money in the long run.  We will be describing the closed loop systems.

There are many different types of vape pens and tanks available in the market, we're here to help you figure out which is the right kind for you.  The biggest point is what type of mix the tank is made for, some are made for nicotine in a PG/VG mix.  Other vape cartridges are geared towards legal cannabis oil.  The good news is Farm to Vape will allow you to vape your cannabis concentrate in any of these style tanks.  

Legal THC vape juice can be made several ways.  First, you'll need to get a hold of some cannabis concentrate that contains THC.  Typically THC vape juice contains a cannabis concentrate that has been thinned down to a viscosity that works in vape pens.  Farm to Vape does just that.  Our Farm to Vape kit contains everything you need (except the legal THC wax) to make up to 15ml of THC vape juice.  The potency of the THC vape juice depends on the ratio of Farm to Vape to the legal THC concentrate.  

For this article, I am going to explain how to turn one gram of wax into e liquid using a Farm to Vape kit.  You can use less wax if you like, and use equally less of Farm to Vape.  We've mixed 1/4 gram of wax with 3/4 gram of Farm to Vape to fill a 1 ml tank countless times for testing.  It's all the same ratio of wax to Farm to Vape Thinner; one gram of wax to three grams of Farm to Vape.  Now let's get started.

First you need to mix a small test batch to dial in your concentrate and cartridge characteristics before mixing the big batch. Every concentrate is different; they were all extracted under different conditions and temperatures. We find frozen live resin extracts to be the highest quality as they contain less cellulose wax and lipids, and contain some terpenes that are lost in the drying and curing of the flower. Shatter and crumble work great too.

Tanks are made by different manufacturers with different oil hole sizes to compensate for different viscosities of vape oil and resistance (ohms) as well. These different variables make it difficult for us to say what is the best ratio for your concentrate and vape cartridge.
